EVER FELT OUT OF PLACE???

Before I tell the story of the day, here is a picture of Arlee that the wonderful Kacey took of Arlee. (Kacey is Flint's assistant)
Flint and Kacey took a ton of amazing pics, but you'll have to wait to see them all...

Now for the story of the day
Dale and Amanda came to town to visit and "the boys" (Dale, Flint and Sam)decide that they NEED to go the the skate park in Scottsdale and ride their new 'long boards'...long story short...
Sam gets a 'long board' and tells Flint and Dale (his two OLDER brothers)that he loves his skate board and that they NEED one...so guess who has long boards...Dale and Flint. So we load up the kids and off to the park we go. The boys take off on their boards and Amanda and I hang out at the playground with the kids. We decided to take a walk. Cooper and Joy are riding their scooters and Cooper sees the "bowl" (I learned a lot of new lingo today) and sees all the teenagers skating down into the "bowl" so off he goes, never mind that I am yelling at him to wait for me...So I find myself at the "bowl" watching Cooper and Joy trying to break their necks and after a few minutes I look around... I realized that I just did not fit in!!! There I was an almost 37 year old, white, Mormon, mom with a stroller, laughing my head off at the kids in the bowl. I all of a sudden felt very uncomfortable, I just didn't belong there...and where was my husband...they had skated to the other end of the park. After awhile Flint, Dale and Sam came back and tried out the "bowl" I laugh to myself as I watched and thought, we just don't belong here...my husband and 2 brother in-laws were skating at the skate park, having the time of their lives clueless that all the teenagers where looking at each other wondering...who these "OLD" dudes are? The funniest thing was that Dale was wearing a bright orange shirt that said "RESPECT your elders" We ended the day at Tempe Marketplace and had Chipolte for dinner and a Paradise sugar cookie for desert! YUM!!! I love that Flint loves to be out doors, do fun things and doesn't ever seem to remember that we are getting old. He tells me "You are only as old as you feel" Well honey, I had a baby 4 weeks ago and I feel OLD!!!
We always have a great time when the 'brothers' are together!
Here are a few pictures!

No fear and no common sense

UPDATE

Hey family and friends---We are blessing Arlee on Sunday March 1st at 11:30 am. We are going to have dinner at our house after...(Stants are cooking Hawaiian food) YUM!!! We hope that everyone can come. Let us know if you can make it!
Time has flown by...Arlee is three weeks old. I took her to the Dr. and she weighed in at 8 lbs 10oz. (She was down to 7 lbs. 2 oz when we went to the Dr. two weeks prior) and I was worried that she wasn't getting anything to eat! According to her Dr. she is well on her way to be a fat healthy baby. She is growing so fast. She loves to eat, sleep and poop. That is pretty much my life right now. I told Flint that if I had a dollar for ever hour I have spent in the rocking chair, I could buy several boxes of diapers! I love having a little girl. Everyday I get her dressed and tell her..."All dressed up and no where to go" I can't wait until she is a little bit older so we are free from RSV and can do what we want, I still feel home bound!
Flint left for Vegas this morning to go to the WPPI (photography convention). WE usually go together every year, but we figured smokey casinos were not a good place for a 3 week old! So now I am home this week without Flint and have to figure out life without him around to help out. I am so spoiled to have him always here. We are going to miss him! Cooper came and got in my bed at 7 this morning and said "I miss dad, when is he going to be home?" Flint had only been gone 2 hours! Its gonna be a long couple of days!!!
Here are some pictures of Arlee when she was two weeks old.

She didnt care much for the huge flower that kept slipping down into her eyes!

Life is good

We survived the 1st week! Arlee is now 10 days old! It has gone by so fast.
I think that I have spent all 10 days feeding her! She is a good eater...it took US a few days to get the hang of it, but we seem to have it figured out... for the most part! Thanks to all who have given advise and especially to my friend Gena Johnson (Staples) who gave me the best bucket of essentials ever! I love that my Mom got to come and help us out for several days. She was a ton of help and we loved having her here with us. We wish she could come back!
Cooper is the best big brother. He has done so well with Arlee. The other day I was changing laundry and he came and hugged my leg and said "thanks mom for going to the hospital and bring Princess Arlee home with you." I had to choke back the tears. He loves to hold her...especially if someone else is holding her. Everyday when he comes home from preschool he shows Arlee his homework and tells her about school. He has showed her all his toys too.
We have been so blessed. Arlee is an easy good baby and Cooper is a super brother!
Here are a few pictures of our 1st week.
